Buyer Risk Checker
Buyer Risk Checker
Enter what you can see on a product listing and get a rough reading of its risk signals. It tells you what to look into, not what to conclude.
Risk signals
A rough guide based on the signals you select. It is not a finding about any product, seller or brand.
About the Buyer Risk Checker
- What it checks
- Six things you can see on most listings: how many reviews there are, how the star ratings are spread, how the price compares with similar products, how long the seller has been around, the warranty and return terms, and the product category.
- How it works
- Each answer adds or removes points on a fixed scale, and the total is shown as few, some or many risk signals, with a list of the ones that raised it. It is a simple scoring model, not a database lookup: it only knows what you tell it.
- What the result means
- A higher reading means the listing has more of the features that tend to go with disappointing purchases, so it deserves a closer look before you pay.
- What it does not mean
- It is not a finding about any product, seller or brand, and it cannot tell you that something is a scam. A legitimate new seller can score high, and a poor product can score low.
